The Situation

As White Star Software’s product ProTop moved deeper into financial services and healthcare, enterprise buyers began applying production-vendor expectations. A 200 question audit took eight months to close. Hiring a CISO ran $250K–$350K loaded; a full SOC 2 program ran roughly $140K per year and still would not stop the questionnaires. They needed an operator instead.

What We Did

Cloud Sentry came in across all three tiers — managed operations, project work, and embedded CISO leadership. We migrated AWS into a White Star–owned organization with Savings Plans intact, deployed GuardDuty across five regions, cleaned up stale IAM access, authored SOC 2 aligned policies, and built a repeatable enterprise security questionnaire response framework. All coordinated cleanly with their existing infrastructure partner.

The Outcome

Two enterprise security cycles processed on the new framework instead of an eight-month one-off effort. SOC 2 aligned operating posture and 24x7 monitoring without the certification overhead. Quarterly access reviews and CISO-level reporting in place. Estimated cost avoided: ~$140K per year in SOC 2 program overhead and $250K–$350K loaded annually for an in-house CISO.
