Cloud Sentry FAQ: Getting started

Question 1

What does Cloud Sentry do?

Accepted Answer

We build and operate the security, compliance, and IT infrastructure that growing companies need to move up market. One partner covers operations, security, compliance, and executive leadership, so one team gets you through the audit.

Question 2

Who is behind Cloud Sentry?

Accepted Answer

Cloud Sentry was founded by Ken Hanson, its CEO. The work is done by a named team who run IT, security and compliance for you inside the same platform you sign into, so you always know who is on your account and what they are doing. Meet them on our About page.

Question 3

Do we get one place to see and manage everything?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Everything we run for you lives in the Cloud Sentry Operations Platform: one front door to send any request, the live status of the systems we manage, the evidence that proves the work, and approvals that route to the people you choose. You see what we are doing, on demand, and you stay in control of it.

Question 4

Who is Cloud Sentry built for?

Accepted Answer

Product companies moving up market, PE-backed portfolio companies undergoing compliance upgrades, regulated startups in healthcare and fintech, and services companies launching their first product. If enterprise buyers are asking security questions your team can’t answer, we’re built for you.

Question 5

How is Cloud Sentry different from an MSP?

Accepted Answer

Mostly in scope. A good MSP is hired to run IT well, and many do. Passing a SOC 2 audit, presenting a security posture to your board, and answering enterprise security questionnaires are a different job, staffed differently, and most IT agreements were written around them. We run operations, security, compliance, and leadership as one function. If you already have an MSP you like, we can work underneath them and keep that relationship intact. See working with MSPs.

Question 6

We are an MSP. Can we work with you and keep the client?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and that is a common arrangement. You keep the agreement, the helpdesk, and the relationship while we operate the security and compliance layer underneath you as a named subcontractor, with the scope split written down before anything starts. Where the client genuinely needs the whole function run by one operator, we take referrals on written terms, and the work you already do stays yours. The models are laid out on the MSP page.

Question 7

Do you require long-term contracts?

Accepted Answer

Support-only services are month-to-month. Project work and managed operations typically involve 12-month agreements with clear scope. Every fee is stated up front, leaving is free, and offboarding is always included.

Question 8

What happens if we want to leave?

Accepted Answer

You keep everything. Every credential, every configuration, every process document. We operate alongside you, always in the open. Offboarding is included in every engagement.

Question 9

What size companies do you work with?

Accepted Answer

The service is built for companies of roughly 10 to 200 employees, at the growth point where enterprise buyers or regulators start requiring real security infrastructure.
