Cloud Sentry (formerly STR Consulting LLC, "Company," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on the Cloud Sentry Marketing Site (cloudsentry.com) and the Cloud Sentry Support Portal (support.cloudsentry.com), which also hosts our public Knowledge Base. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how each property uses them, and your choices regarding their use. These properties are served on different hosts and set their cookies independently; a cookie set on one host is not shared with the others.
What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to provide a better user experience, and to supply information to the website owner. Cookies may be "persistent" cookies, which remain on your device until they expire or you delete them, or "session" cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser.
How We Use Cookies
We use the following categories of cookies on our website:
Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of our website. They enable core functionality such as page navigation, access to secure areas, and form submissions. The website cannot function properly without these cookies, and they cannot be disabled in our systems.
Analytics Cookies
On the Marketing Site we use two analytics services, Google Analytics 4 and PostHog, to understand how visitors interact with our pages: how many visitors arrive, which pages are viewed most, how people navigate the site, and where they click. PostHog can also record a visit as a session recording of the page layout, scrolling, and clicks, with every form field masked. PostHog keeps a first-party cookie and a browser storage entry, each named with a ph_ prefix, and its data travels through our own domain to PostHog's US-hosted service. Both services load only after you allow analytics through the consent control described below, and both stop as soon as you turn analytics off. Advertising signals are disabled by default, so this analytics use is for improving the site.
Functional Cookies
These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization, such as remembering your preferences, language settings, or region. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies, some or all of these features may not function properly.
Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties whose services we embed. These include Google Analytics 4 (web analytics, loaded only after you consent, with advertising signals disabled), PostHog (product analytics and session recordings, loaded only after you consent, with its cookie set on our own domain). The discovery-call picker on our contact page sends your booking to Calendly, our scheduling provider, from our own servers, so it sets no Calendly cookies on this site; if you follow a link to Calendly's own booking page, Calendly may set its own cookies there. We do not control third-party cookies, and their use is governed by the privacy policies of those providers. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of sub-processors.
Managing Your Consent
On the Marketing Site we show a cookie consent control. By default, analytics and advertising storage are turned off; we load Google Analytics and PostHog only after you choose to allow analytics. Your choice is stored locally in your browser, and you can reopen the control at any time to change it. Turning analytics off stops both services and clears the PostHog cookie and browser storage. Essential cookies, which are required for the site to function, are always on and cannot be disabled.
California residents can opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information as described in the Your California Privacy Rights section of our Privacy Policy. Because advertising signals are disabled by default, we do not use these cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Support Portal Authentication Cookie
When you sign in to the Cloud Sentry Support Portal, we set a single first-party cookie on the Support Portal host that identifies your authenticated session. The cookie is strictly necessary for the Support Portal to function for signed-in users and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
| Attribute | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | cs_support_session |
| Purpose | Identifies your authenticated session on the Support Portal so we can show your tickets, approvals, and policies without prompting for sign-in on every request. |
| Host | support.cloudsentry.com |
| Category | Essential (strictly necessary) |
| Attributes | HttpOnly; Secure; SameSite=Lax. The cookie value is signed with a server-held secret so it cannot be forged client-side. |
| Lifetime | Expires after 30 minutes of inactivity (idle timeout) and after 14 days from initial sign-in (absolute lifetime), whichever comes first. |
If you block this cookie, you will not be able to remain signed in to the Support Portal; pages that require authentication will redirect you back to the sign-in page on every request. Unauthenticated request submission, where offered, will continue to work without the cookie.
Managing Cookies
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically configure your browser to refuse all cookies, accept only certain cookies, or notify you when a cookie is being set. The method for managing cookies varies by browser, so please consult your browser's help documentation for specific instructions.
Please note that if you choose to block or delete cookies, some features of our website may not function as intended, and your user experience may be affected.
You can also opt out of certain analytics cookies by visiting the opt-out pages provided by the respective analytics service providers. For example, Google provides a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics tracking.
Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies.
